How to get from Nice to St Tropez: 6 ways

1- Driving

Driving to St Tropez is the most popular and fastest option, as you can take the A8 coastal motorway which will get you to your destination in around 1 hour and 56 minutes.

The biggest advantage of driving from Nice to St Tropez is that you can also explore the amazing towns on the way (like Grimaud, Saint Maxime, and Saint Raphael) and make stops wherever you want.

2- Nice to Saint-Tropez by train

The second (and my favorite) way is by taking the train from Nice to Saint-Raphaël, and then either a taxi or bus to St Tropez.

As I live in Nice and quite close to the train station, this is definitely my go-to during the low season. During summer, however, transportation to Saint Tropez by boat is the way to go.

The train takes about 1 hour, and the cost of the ticket is around €25 for the round trip.

From Saint-Raphael, you can get a bus to St Tropez in 30 minutes for around €1.30, or take a taxi which will cost you between €45 and €60.

The third way to travel from Nice to St Tropez is by taking a ferry.

This might be the most beautiful of them all as you will get to enjoy magnificent views of the French Riviera along the way

You can take the boat from Nice’s old port and it will get you to your destination in around 2 hours and a half at a cost of €85 round trip (it’s worth it, honestly).

Also, it’s the perfect alternative if you are short on time.

5- Taxi from Nice to Saint-Tropez

Taking a taxi from Nice to St Tropez is probably the most expensive option, but also the quickest and the most comfortable.

The cost of the service will depend on your starting point in Nice, but it can range between €350 and €400 one way.

However, you should bear in mind that this amount may vary depending on the time and day of the week.

6- By bus

There are no direct buses from Nice to Saint-Tropez, but you can take the bus from Nice Gare Routiere (bus station) to Saint-Raphaël and then another one from there to St Tropez.

The whole journey can take around 2 hours and 30 minutes, depending on the traffic, and will cost €25 round trip.

Honestly, I don’t think this option is worth it as taking the train + bus is cheaper and faster.

7- By helicopter

The last (and by far the most luxurious) way to get from Nice to St Tropez is by helicopter.

This option will get you to your destination in approximately 25 minutes, and the cost of the trip starts at €2250 for a one-way flight.
