A little history lesson

Villefranche-Sur-Mer has a long and enduring history that stretches back for centuries. In the 6th century, it was already an important port for the Ligurian people.

Later, it served as a strategic stronghold for the Counts of Provence in the 11th century and was taken over by the Genoese until 1481. After that, it became part of Savoy, finally becoming part of France in 1860.

Today, Villefranche-Sur-Mer is alive with culture, beautiful beaches, and great restaurants. Its picturesque streets boast bright murals and street art that adorn walls throughout the town and its many restaurants offer some of the finest cuisine on the Riviera.

The culinary scene in Villefranche-sur-Mer is simply outstanding. With fresh seafood, traditional French dishes, and mouthwatering desserts, you will find some of the best dishes.

2- See the Citadelle de Villefranche-Sur-Mer
