Villefranche-Sur-Mer has a long and enduring history that stretches back for centuries. In the 6th century, it was already an important port for the Ligurian people.
Later, it served as a strategic stronghold for the Counts of Provence in the 11th century and was taken over by the Genoese until 1481. After that, it became part of Savoy, finally becoming part of France in 1860.

Built between 1905 and 1912, the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is a beautiful mansion situated on the hilltop of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. The villa features 9 distinct gardens, each with its own unique style, including a French formal garden and an exotic Japanese garden.
It’s definitely worth a visit!

The path is around 2 kilometers long and takes about 1.5 hours to complete. It’s a great way to explore the area and get some exercise!
