Cannes vs Antibes: Which One is Better?

Cannes: For a taste of glamour

Cannes is one of the most iconic destinations on the French Riviera. It is best known as the host of the annual Cannes Film Festival, so it has an air of glamour and sophistication that no other destination can match.

The town itself is full of chic boutiques, stunning beaches, and world-class restaurants. The streets are lined with luxury cars and yachts, making Cannes a great place to window-shop and people-watch.

Antibes: For a laid-back atmosphere and a stunning Old Town

Antibes

Antibes on the other hand is more charming and small-town-like than Cannes. Even though it has a really busy port, the town itself has a laid-back, relaxed atmosphere.

The highlight of Antibes is its Old Town. This walled city dates back to the time of the Greeks and has a really beautiful charm that’s hard to find elsewhere.

You can explore winding cobblestone streets and marvel at historic buildings. It’s also home to some great art galleries and small boutique stores selling artisanal goods.

Making a decision

So, now that we have taken a look at what each of these towns has to offer, which one should you choose? It really depends on what sort of holiday experience you’re looking for.

Cannes is great if you want to feel like luxury shopping and some glamour, while Antibes is great if you want a more small French Town kind of vibe.

Cannes is also usually the best choice for luxury hotels, although Antibes also has options like the famous Hotel du Cap Eden Roc.

If you can, I would highly recommend visiting both towns as they each offer a different experience.
