4- Cassis makes a perfect day trip from Aix
The adorable Cassis, a Mediterranean fishing village about 30 minutes away from Aix-en-Provence, makes for an excellent day trip.
Take a boat tour and explore the Calanques (the coves along the coast) and then have lunch at one of the local restaurants for a perfect day.
8- Admire the stunning Lavender Fields in summer
If you visit in the summer, be sure to take a day trip to the stunning lavender fields near Aix-en-Provence. Take in the captivating views of this fragrant crop that is so typical of the region.
9- The food is outstanding
